Stevens Pass Sold For $20.5 Million to Owners of Summit

Wow, here’s some big news on the verge of Stevens Pass opening this weekend, Stevens Pass ski area sold to owners of Snoqualmie Pass resort:

On the eve of the ski season, the Stevens Pass ski area has been sold to the same Orlando company that owns the ski areas at Snoqualmie Pass.

CNL Lifestyle Properties said Friday it paid Harbor Properties of Seattle $20.5 million for the 1,125-acre property.

What’s interesting is that CNL Lifestyle Properties bought Stevens Pass. CNL also owns Snoqualmie which is managed by Boyne Resorts. Boyne Resorts owns and manages Crystal Mountain. (I think I got that right… If you’re curious about ski area management check out, Ski Resort Ownership in North America: Who Owns What.)

Perhaps next year we’ll see Boyne managing Snoqualmie, Crystal and Stevens. Wouldn’t it be incredible if next year there was a season’s pass that worked at all three resorts?
